Sleep quality and its association with menopausal and climacteric symptoms

ABSTRACT Objective: to assess sleep quality in menopausal women and its association with symptoms related this period. Method: is a cross-sectional, analytical correlational study. Sleep was assessed using the Pittsburgh Quality Index; climacteric symptoms, according Menopause Rating Scale. To compare total score each Scale domain PSQI classification, Mann-Whitney U non-parametric test used. P<0.05 considered significant. Results: 261 (67.8%) were classified as bad sleepers. There positive significant correlation between scale scores menopause domains. Women categorized poor sleepers had worse on symptom scale. Conclusion: revealed greater severity of menopause.
